Brackley plays on Wednesday evenings at 8:30pm at Winchester House School, right on the High Street in the heart of town. Brackley knows a thing or two about doing things at pace. This is the town Mercedes call home, with the Formula One team based just off the ring road and Silverstone only a few miles up the road, so a fast, competitive game on a Wednesday night feels right at home here. There is proper football history too, with Brackley Town flying the flag up the non league pyramid, and our midweek game has become a firm fixture for men over 50 who still want to get out and play.
This is the real thing, running football played at a genuine pace, not a watered down version. You do not need to have played in years. What matters is that you fancy getting back out there and feeling part of a side again. The group is a friendly one and new players get involved from the off, whether you kept going all the way through or you are coming back after a long break. Plenty travel in from the villages and towns around Brackley, from Croughton and Syresham to Buckingham, Towcester and up towards Banbury, because a good game close to home is worth a short drive.
