These terms apply to your membership of Hellraisers Over-50s Football and to your participation in our sessions. Please read them before joining. Separate terms apply to our social events. Details of how we handle your personal information are set out in our Privacy Policy.
-
Eligibility
- Membership and participation are for adults aged 48 and over. Nobody under the age of 18 may take part in any session under any circumstances — there are no exceptions.
- You must be registered with us and your membership payment confirmed before you play. If you are not registered, you cannot take part — this is what keeps every player covered by our insurance.
- Guests and prospective members aged 48+ may attend a trial session where this has been agreed and approved in advance.
-
Sessions and Booking
- Sessions are booked and managed through our booking system. Session invitations are usually sent around one week in advance. You only need to respond if you are attending.
- Sessions go ahead in all weather unless the venue cancels the booking, or the organiser considers conditions unsafe.
- Where a session is not full, other members may claim the remaining places at no extra charge, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
-
Membership and Payment
- Membership is charged monthly by continuous payment at the current rate published on our website, plus a one-off joining fee. Membership entitles you to unlimited play at any Hellraisers venue.
- Membership is a monthly subscription, not a per-session charge. Fees are not based on attendance, and we do not offer pay-as-you-go.
- Continuous payment: your subscription must be maintained without interruption while you are a member. This is what allows us to commit to venue bookings and keep the club running for everybody.
- Pausing your membership — injury only: We do not pause memberships for holidays, work commitments, short absences or minor injuries.
If you tell us you are injured, your membership is paused and you cannot return to play for two months from the date you inform us. To request a pause, email admin@over50sfootball.com. Your place at your venue is held while you are paused.
Other prolonged absences will be reviewed case by case. - Cancelling: you may cancel your membership at any time by contacting us at admin@over50sfootball.com. Your membership will end at the end of the monthly period you have paid for. We do not provide part-month refunds, except as set out at clause 3.6.
- First session guarantee: if you join and your first session is not for you, tell us and we will refund your first payment in full — no questions asked.
- Price changes: we will give at least 30 days’ notice of any price increase wherever possible. Exceptionally, if a venue closes or raises its prices without notice and we must find or fund an alternative, we may need to pass on that increase sooner. If you do not wish to accept a price change, you may cancel under clause 3.5.
- Payments are processed securely by our payment provider. We do not accept cash, bank transfers or payment of any kind at the pitch.
-
Participation and Your Health
- By taking part you confirm that you consider yourself fit to do so, and that you do not believe participation will be detrimental to your health, safety or physical condition. Participation is voluntary and at your own risk.
- You accept the ordinary risks that come with playing football, including the risk of injury.
- You are responsible for your own warm-up, stretching and recovery, and for deciding whether you are fit to play on any given day.
- Sessions are competitive but controlled. They are not medically supervised. The organiser may ask you to sit out if they have any concern for your safety or anyone else’s.
- You are responsible for managing any existing medical condition and for telling the organiser anything they need to know to help you in an emergency.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law.
-
Code of Conduct
The following applies at every venue, before, during and after sessions, and in all Hellraisers WhatsApp groups and online spaces:
- No swearing, offensive language, or racist, sexist or otherwise discriminatory remarks, towards any player or anyone else, on or off the pitch.
- No over-aggressive tackles that could seriously injure another player. Sliding tackles are not permitted.
- No verbal or physical abuse towards any player, official, venue staff or member of the public.
- No personal attacks, hostile tone, inappropriate content or offensive banter in WhatsApp groups.
- No sharing of other people’s private information or screenshots without permission.
- No spamming, and no advertising services or businesses unless agreed with us.
- Respect people’s time — avoid late-night messaging unless it is urgent.
- If you breach this code of conduct, you may be asked to leave the venue immediately and your membership may be terminated.
- Where we terminate a membership for a breach of this code, we will refund any unused part of the month in which the membership ends. We will not refund any joining fee.
-
General
- We may update these terms from time to time. Where a change materially affects you, we will let you know and you may cancel under clause 3.5 if you do not wish to accept it.
- Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, including the information you give us about injuries when requesting a pause.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
- If you have any questions, contact us at admin@over50sfootball.com.
